Over the course of nine months I held the position of Creative Director for RedBull Records up and coming act Flawes, the job involved a variety of work from design of album covers to live image/video of performances.
For each of the 3 singles that I worked on I wanted to explore a relationship between image and sound. Creating visceral images that reflected more than simply the title of the track. Playing with a variety of options and keeping a consistent dialog with the band/manager/label was essential to the creation of this work.
Translating Flawes' incredible energy and talent through still images and video was also an essential part of my work with them, creating short recap videos from each gig on their Germany tour was an excellent way not only to engage fans but also to demonstrate the atmosphere and power for their performances.
Towards the end of my time working with Flawes, I produced a music video for their final single of the year. I wanted to stay true to the aesthetic I had been building through both the covers and social platforms such as Instagram. Consistency was a crucial element and translating this across to music video was a great way to end the year.
